About our club
We celebrated our centenary in 2024, so we have been a part of the Letchworth Lawn Bowls community for over 100 years. Situated adjacent to the Letchworth Conservative Club, where we can relax and enjoy lawn bowls club activities in pleasant and friendly surroundings before and after a game. Conservative club members love to enjoy a leisurely game of bowls during the Spring and Summer months.
Only Conservative Club members can join the associated bowls club.
The main club offers two full size Snooker tables, plus a Pool table. Of course all members benefit from paying reduced prices for all their drinks. Current membership for the main club is £25 per year, OAP's, Students and those that are disabled pay a reduced rate of £12.50.
There is a joining fee in the 1st year only of £10. Along with club membership there is a contribution to the Conservative party that is required to be paid of £3 per year, for which you will be registered as a supporter.
Conservative club members then pay £30 per year to join the associated bowls team, however this is reduced to £15 for the 1st year.
We also have a reduced price for juniors still at school of £5. Bowlers who take part in an actual club game can expect to pay £4 as match fees, and this is reduced to £2 for juniors.
We mainly play mixed friendlies against other local and not so local bowls Clubs during the bowling season which starts late April till mid September.
However we also play in the local Men's League, The Stevenage Jubilee League and the Hitchin (Bancroft) Triples League, plus of course all the various internal competitions
